Pampa–Sannidhanam Ropeway Project Must Be Completed Without Delay

The Kerala State Devaswom Pensioners’ Confederation’s Punalur Group Conference has urged the state government to take immediate steps to complete the proposed 2.7-km ropeway connecting Pampa with the Sabarimala Sannidhanam.

The conference said the ropeway would provide significant benefits to lakhs of pilgrims visiting Sabarimala and called for the project to be taken forward without further delay.

The previous LDF government had allotted 4.5336 hectares of land in Kulathupuzha village for the project. However, the conference alleged that no further action was taken after the UDF government came to power.

The meeting urged the government to revive the project and initiate the necessary procedures at the earliest, citing its importance for pilgrims and the overall Sabarimala pilgrimage infrastructure.

The conference was held at the PWD Guest House auditorium in Punalur and was inaugurated by CPI(M) Punalur Area Secretary P. Saji. Group president K. Rajendran Nair presided over the meeting.

R. Shaji Sharma delivered the keynote address. Anayara Chandran, K. Muraleedharan Nair, Udayan Mukathala, M.P. Prahladan, Anilkumar and G. Radhakrishnan also spoke.

K. Rajendran Nair was elected president and Sani Kumar secretary of the group.
