Thiruvabharanam Route Renovation to Be Included Under PM Gati Shakti Scheme
NEW DELHI: The renovation of the Thiruvabharanam route from Pandalam to Pampa associated with the Sabarimala pilgrimage, along with the Renovation of the MC Road, will be included under the Central Government’s PM Gati Shakti scheme.
The decision was taken during a meeting between Kerala Public Works Minister P.K. Basheer and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi.
Minister P.K. Basheer said that steps would also be taken to expedite the land acquisition process for the Kodungallur–Angamaly bypass. The alignment of the Kothamangalam bypass has been approved, he said.
He further stated that approval would be granted for five works worth ₹111.27 crore included in the annual plan. In Kozhikode district, the alignment of the proposed elevated highway from Ramanattukara to Kozhikode Airport is also expected to receive approval from the concerned committee soon.
The Union Government has also expressed support for the proposal to construct a flyover at Kayamkulam on National Highway 66, the minister said.
