President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Sabarimala on May 19
President of Bharat, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit the Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa temple on May 19 as part of her two-day tour of Kerala. Her visit to the state is planned for May 18 and 19.
According to sources, the President will arrive in Kottayam district on May 18 to attend an event at a local college. The following day, On May 19, she will visit Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa temple to offer prayers on the concluding day of the Idavam month poojas.
The President's visit to one of South India's most sacred pilgrimage sites is seen as a significant gesture, underscoring the spiritual and cultural heritage of the nation. Security arrangements and protocol measures are being put in place to ensure a smooth visit. authorities have announced restrictions on virtual queue tickets for the public on May 18 and 19, meaning no darshan will be permitted for devotees on these days.
This will be President Murmu’s first visit to the temple since assuming office, and it is expected to draw national attention given the religious and cultural prominence of Sabarimala.
