Over 30 Injured as Two KSRTC Buses Collide in Pampa
Pathanamthitta: More than 30 people, including Sabarimala pilgrims, were injured on Tuesday when two KSRTC buses collided head-on at Chakkupalam in Pampa. According to officials, none of the passengers suffered critical injuries, though a child named Mangala sustained a head injury.
The accident occurred on a curve along the Pampa–Nilakkal route, where both buses were operating chain services. Initial reports suggest that negligent driving may have caused the crash.
About 10 injured passengers — including both bus drivers — were taken to Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital. The remaining victims were admitted to a hospital in Nilakkal.
Traffic on the route was blocked for over an hour, and police and Fire Force teams faced considerable difficulty clearing the damaged buses from the road.
